Measure W Committee Vacancies

STOCKTON, CA – – The City of Stockton is currently accepting applications for four (4) vacancies on the Measure W Oversight Committee, due to expiring terms on December 31, 2011. The term of office is two (2) years and members are limited to serving two (2) terms. The deadline for applications is Thursday, December 08, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.

To qualify, a person must be at least 28 years of age and residents of City of Stockton. The Oversight Committee may not include any employee or officer of the City of Stockton, or any vendor, contractor or consultant doing business with the City.

The purpose of the Commission is to assure that the monies received from the sales and use tax enacted based on Measure W are being spent in the manner promised to the Stockton residents, including: reviewing revenue and expenditure reports for Measure W, reviewing independent audits, hearing reports concerning the use of monies and presenting annual reports to the City Council.

The Measure W Oversight Committee meets as-needed at City Hall, 425 N. El Dorado Street. There is no remuneration.

Applications are available from the City Clerk’s Office, 425 N. El Dorado Street, 1st floor, or online at www.stocktongov.com. City office hours are open Monday through Thursday, 7:30a  5:30p, and every other Friday, 8a  5p; City offices are closed every other Friday. City offices are closed November 21 through 25, and every Friday in November, and Friday, December 2, 2011.
