Lodi, CA — Farm workers are encouraged to attend Día del Campesino (Day of the Farm Worker) on Thursday, October 6, 2011 starting at 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM Día del Campesino is a free health and community resource annual fair which is scheduled during Binational Health Week for the San Joaquin County community. Participants will be able to receive health screenings including blood pressure checks, diabetes tests and vision screenings. Free food, kids’ activities, entertainment, raffles and important information on community resources is available throughout the day. This years Fair will be at 631 E. Oak St., Lodi. Stockton, CA — Friday, September 16th the Gary and Janice Podesto Teen Impact Center (The Podesto Teen IMPACT Center) cut the ribbon as the facility is under new management — The Family Resource and Referral Agency.
"We are extremely excited about our opportunity to manage the Podesto Teen IMPACT Center," stated Tony Washington, Family Resource & Referral Centers Public Relations Manager. Simultaneously young adults are eager to return to the center, "It’s great that the Teen Center is re-opening," said Shawn Cruz, lead person of Pack A Punch (PAP) a break dancing group of Stockton which competes statewide and among the eight U.S. western states.
