California Coastal Cleanup Event

Stockton, CA – In the States largest volunteer event, the California Coastal Cleanup Day, aims at removing trash and debris in and around local waterways which pollute marine wildlife and habitat. The City of Stockton, Lodi and the San Joaquin County will once again coordinate resources and participation by students, citizens, businesses and other local agencies to clean up local waterways in celebration and support of California Coastal Cleanup Day, September 17, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Last year, San Joaquin County residents and businesses collected approximately 24,000 pounds of trash and cleaned up 12 sites which covered over 18 miles of waterway banks and park areas. This year’s goal is to clean more river miles.

For event and volunteer information, or if you would like to donate in-kind and/or tax-deductible monetary contributions to this event, please call (209) 468-3073.
