OPINION: Thanks For Reading

benignoI just want to thank everyone for their comments about the articles in the bilingual weekly news paper. I started writing for the paper about 2 years ago, and I can assure you it’s been a labor of love for me. The opportunity to write ones thoughts and feeling these days is rare, with the entire backlash from the political pundits around these days. It makes me feel that America is still on tract and is one of the greatest countries in the world, where we can tell it like it is. The freedoms these days are getting scarce when one can’t say what they feel.

One thing that bothers me is that when we try to get the word out to those who really care and will take the time to read what we write, there are those around who sabotage the free press.  In our case we have people who don’t agree and will throw our news paper in the trash. The Bilingual Weekly was a free paper and we felt that we should let those who wanted to read it do so. As usual we have a few people who can’t stand to see real people who have no motive behind what they say or write.
The Bilingual Weekly has now added a price to the paper so that the establishments could make a few cents on each edition. For the paper to collect would take a vending machine type operation to collect the money. That you can guess is a costly venture.
To continue, we would like everyone who picks up a paper to please give one to a friend so that many can see how well the bilingual weekly contributes to the advertising, news and opinion pages.  We also have a web site http://www.bilingualweekly.com you are welcome to check it out.  The paper is in Spanish and English as is the web site.
If I were to own a news paper, this is the way I would have it done. They try not to support one party or any other or one issue over another.  That is the way news should be done.  We hope we can continue to give the readers the news as it should be.
