Concerts in the Park

(bw)  Stockton, CA — during fiscal year 2009-10 the City of Stockton proposed removing the funds from Victory Park’s free concert series, “Concerts in the Park.” However, the community joined forces to continue the 59-year tradition. 

While the 2011 series was originally scheduled to kick-off on June 1st, rain delayed the first concert to be on June 8, 2011. Steve Trucco performed before more than 500 community members, “[It’s] about time we have this great weather,” said Steve Trucco’s lead singer who received a warm cheer from the crowd.
“Having live music in the park brings the community to the park and is an event that Stockton should be proud of,” said Maria Moreno who enjoyed the music with her two children, “here we have beautiful weather, talent, and a community that is proud to be in Stockton.”
The 10 concert series is scheduled on Wednesdays with the last concert scheduled for August 24th, 2011.  Each concert starts at 6:00 PM at Victory Park.
