The State is Fair

A Tyrannosaurus Rex growls at attendees at The Days of the Dinosaur Exhibit —a prehistoric wonderland full of life-sized robotic dinosaurs and fun hands-on activities for the kids.
 
 
 
Drummer Matt Gendal, member of the Los Angeles-based Street Beat Presents Parkour Percussion do his thing at the PG&E Center Stage on Monday, July 19, 2010, at the California Exposition & State Fair in Sacramento. STREET BEAT is a kinetic, maximum energy explosion of urban rhythm and dance, utilizing junk, household items and found objects for drums and percussion and featuring the pinnacle of modern “street” choreography.
 
 
 
 
Children pet tortoises at the Jungle & Reptile Experience pavilion. This interactive animal exhibit is housed in a garden environment full of lush tropical plants that included a variety of birds, amphibians and reptiles, including colonies of alligators and large tortoises.
 
 
Night view of the mechanical rides at the California Exposition & State Fair. Organizers expect attendance to reach a million visitors this year. The Fair ends August 1, 2010.
