New Orleans Saints’ Lynell Hamilton becomes Outdoor Education’s spokesperson and helps kick-off fundraiser

Stockton native and New Orleans Saints’ Running Back, Lynell Hamilton, is reaching out to his community by becoming the San Joaquin County Office of Education Outdoor Education spokesperson. On Wednesday, July 14 at 9 a.m. at Lincoln High School’s football field, Hamilton will shoot a commercial for Outdoor Education’s second annual fundraiser.

Starting September 1, San Joaquin County residents will take on the challenge of selling $5 raffle tickets for a 2011 Ford Fiesta to help send students go to Outdoor Education, formerly known as Science Camp. Schools will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales to use toward sending students to Outdoor Education. This year’s goal is to raise $200,000. All schools within San Joaquin County are encouraged to sign-up to participate in the fundraiser. If interested, email SJCOE Board President, Jill Fritchen at
